D's Tostadas

  • 1 can (15 oz.) refried beans
  • 1 can (15 oz.) black beans
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • taco seasoning (see Note)
  • 6 inch tostado shells
  • 1 c. grated cheese (cheddar or a mix of cheeses)
  • 1-2 c. shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions or green onions
1. Heat two cans of beans together in a saucepan.

2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, adding taco seasoning and up to 1/4 cup water, if needed.

3. Layer the ingredients on the tostado shells, beans on the bottom, ground beef next, topped with cheese and other additions as desired.

This makes about 8 tostados.


Note:
We use about 1/4 of a 1.5 oz. package of taco seasoning. You could use more if you like things spicier.
